“The heart turns to poetry what the mind can’t understand.”— Juansen Dizon
There’s so many ways to cause pain. So many ways to be hurt. Friendship is one of the few things that makes life bright. Sharing experiences, sharing unimaginable hurts… I wish I could take the pain away from everyone I know and love who has suffered. From violence whether it be sexual, physical, or emotional- it’s all so commonplace. It’s so easy to feel shame. It’s so easy to feel voiceless. Sharing these pains both opens and closes the wounds- there is so much warmth and comfort in not being alone in this world. The busted lips and the bruises heal. The gas-lighting takes years to recover from. But the moment we hold each other, make our voices heard, and love one another without judgement… for a split second the wounds don’t sting so much. I love the people I love so hard. And I am becoming better at remembering how lucky I am that we have each other in this sometimes dark, relentless world. There is so much beauty is shared experiences and shared healing.
